Content Day with BodyRocket in Essex with Alex Dowsett

Whilst your business grows as a sports photographer and sports videographer, there are certain pinch me moments that come along and it is also not everyday that you get to meet a (former) professional cyclist and Olympian in Alex Dowsett. However, when I was recently asked to come down to Essex for a content creation day for Body Rocket, this was one of those days!

Firstly, Body Rocket is revolutionising cycling performance with real-time aerodynamics as-you-ride. Power output is not a guess anymore – so why would you do the same with aerodynamics?

So, the aim of the day was for Body Rocket to test out the next phase in their product development and they needed content captured of the day. As mentioned, Alex Dowsett was involved on the day, who was also capturing content for his YouTube channel. Lance Childs was the other athlete that was testing on the day, who is himself a very handy cyclist and time-trialist. So for me the brief was to capture photos of the new product being fitted, action shots of it whilst riding, and close ups of it (both static and in motion). I was also tasked with capturing video footage of the latest development with similar goals to what I was asked to do in photos.

Whenever dealing with technology, and in particular technology that is still in development, there is always glitches and this photoshoot was no exception. With that being said, there were some changes on the day in terms of what content I could capture, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed the day and I am always thankful for the team at PaceUp Media for the opportunity to work with Body Rocket.
